Weight Training Update (1 May)
Yesterday, I blitzed 3 sets of 5 reps bench press at 90kg (198 pound). Time to increase the weight to 92.5kg.
I followed that with 4 sets of press at around 40 to 45kg. Between bench press and press, I allow myself a break of say 15 minutes. When you’re working out at home, it’s easier to work that way. You’re not constantly fitting in with other people at a public gym.
Today, I’m scheduled to do full squat followed by power clean. Again, I allow a break of 15 minutes between the two exercises.
I’m generally too drained after bench press and press to contemplate chin-ups. I’m now planning to do that exercise at another time of day—maybe late morning. Motivation is critical. If I’m fresh, I’ll tackle chin-up. If I’m tired, I’ll make an excuse.
